Lebanese Minister: We do not accept a unilateral ceasefire agreement with Israel

10 Nov 2024 - 14:57

Mohammad Wissam al-Mortaza, Minister of Culture of the Provisional Government of Lebanon, stating that there is no difference between the official political position of this country and the position of the resistance, warned about the sedition of the Zionist enemy inside Lebanon, and emphasized that we do not want a one-sided ceasefire with Israel.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Mohammed Wissam al-Mortaza", the Minister of Culture of the Provisional Government of Lebanon, during a speech in response to the news of the Hebrew media about the Zionist regime's decision for a unilateral ceasefire in the north of occupied Palestine, announced that Lebanon has agreed to a ceasefire agreement. It does not accept unilateralism with Israel, and the official position of our country is the need to establish a ceasefire simultaneously with the implementation of Resolution 1701.

Al-Mortaza said in a conversation with Al-Jazeera that there is information that shows that the US envoy intends to resume his efforts in the framework of establishing a ceasefire so that Joe Biden's government can leave its mark on the ceasefire case before leaving the White House.

He added: But the American representative has not yet given any detailed message about the date of his trip to Beirut or the proposals he intends to make. Lebanon is waiting and hoping that the Biden administration will finally pursue a serious effort for a ceasefire.

The Lebanese minister said: "Now the ball is in the court of Israel and its supporters, and the resistance has shown that its determination and steadfastness is far beyond what the Zionists can imagine, and therefore there is no chance to realize any of the public and private goals of the occupying regime in This war does not exist.

Mohammad Wissam al-Mortaza emphasized: There is complete coordination between Nabih Berri, the speaker of the parliament, and Najib Miqati, the prime minister of the interim government of Lebanon in the management of the ceasefire case, and there is no difference between the official political position of Lebanon and the position of the resistance. We also warn against the efforts of the Zionist regime to exploit any differences in Lebanon's internal positions to create sedition. All Lebanese political forces agree on the necessity of not creating a rift inside the country through which the Israeli enemy can incite sedition.

He continued that the Lebanese military establishment is trying with all its might to establish internal stability and prevent any internal sedition in the country. Israel is a destructive and occupying entity that cannot coexist with any side. We should also mention the dangerous political thinking of the Zionists who believe that there will be no stability for Israel before the destruction of Lebanon.

The Minister of Culture of Lebanon stated about the intentional encroachments of the Zionist regime on the country's cultural centers and antiquities: Lebanon has 6 antiquities that are registered in the world heritage list and protected under international laws. Lebanon's Ministry of Culture issued a diplomatic cultural warning months ago to protect cultural and ancient heritage from Israeli aggression.

Mohammad Wassam al-Mortaza said: A few days ago, Israel targeted an ancient house in the vicinity of Baalbek Castle, whose construction dates back to 1922.

The media of the Israeli regime, including Channel 12 of this regime, reported this Sunday morning that Tel Aviv is considering the possibility of a ceasefire in northern occupied Palestine (with Hezbollah) so as not to have to comply with the Security Council's resolution against it.

According to these reports, the estimation of the leaders of the Israeli regime is that after failing to achieve ground and field achievements against Hezbollah, the UN Security Council will start working and issue a resolution against the Israeli regime's war in Lebanon.

The Israel Hum newspaper and the Kan Israel network reported tangible and real progress regarding the contacts on the northern front and claimed that the talks are now about a good deal that will serve Israel's interests very well. Lebanon's Hezbollah has not reacted to this claim so far.

These reports are published after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar implied last night that due to the stubbornness of the Israeli regime, it has announced to the negotiating parties that the country's mediation efforts have been suspended.

Recently, the Hebrew media revealed that by creating a team, Netanyahu intended to thwart any attempt to reach a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners, and he sees the continuation of his political survival in the failure to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.
