Argentina's "Trump's" favor to America/Argentina's foreign minister was fired after voting in favor of ending the embargo on Cuba

31 Oct 2024 - 17:23

Javier Milli, the president of Argentina, who is known as the Trump of this country, dismissed him from this position hours after the country's foreign minister voted positively to cancel the US economic sanctions against Cuba in the United Nations General Assembly.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Argentine President Javier Milli, who is known as the country's Trump, dismissed the country's foreign minister, Diana Mondino, because of her anti-American vote in condemning the Cuban embargo at the United Nations on Wednesday.
Manuel Adorni, Milli's spokesman, said on his account that Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino was replaced by Argentina's ambassador to the United States, Gerardo Vertain.
Adorni did not elaborate on the reasons for the replacement, but the announcement came hours after Arantine voted Wednesday to end the embargo on Cuba.
The president's office later confirmed in a press release that the removal was due to a UN vote.
The Associated Press quoted Milley's office as saying: "Our country firmly opposes the Cuban dictatorship and will remain firm in advancing foreign policy in condemning all regimes that continue to violate human rights and individual freedoms."
On Wednesday, 187 countries, including Argentina, voted in favor of the UN resolution condemning the US embargo on Cuba, and only the United States and Israel voted against it.
Since coming to power in December 2023, Milli has changed his country's foreign policy more towards the interests of the United States and the Zionist regime. He has expressed his full support for the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government regarding the attack on Gaza. His position differs from most Latin American countries — where Bolivia and Colombia have even cut ties with Tel Aviv and at least five countries in the region, including Brazil, have pulled their ambassadors from Tel Aviv.
According to Mehr, Argentina's vote in the United Nations is the last part of Mundino's troubled period as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Last week, Modino's office was forced to delete a press release after writing "Falklands" instead of "Malvinas," as Argentina calls the British-controlled archipelago in the South Atlantic, and in May, after Milli criticized the giant Asia, visited China and tried to improve bilateral relations. But he was criticized during the visit for saying in a media interview that "all Chinese are the same."
