The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock recently expressed her optimism about Afghanistan's agricultural exports to China and emphasized to gain a special position in the Chinese market.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: The Ministry’s Press Office reported that Mullah Sadr Azam Osmani, Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, met with Zhao Xing, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan, at his office.
In the meeting, Deputy Minister Osmani highlighted the longstanding positive relationship between Afghanistan and China. He underscored the unique appeal of Afghan agricultural products in the Chinese market and noted that Chinese industrial products could similarly find a favorable market in Afghanistan. Osmani also mentioned his upcoming official visit to China, which he described as an invaluable opportunity to deepen agricultural cooperation.
Ambassador Zhao Xing, in response, expressed gratitude for the continued cooperation and engagement of the Ministry. He highlighted the historical relationship between China and Afghanistan and reaffirmed China’s support for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on the international stage.
Furthermore, Ambassador Zhao noted China’s active economic partnerships in Afghanistan and indicated that China is keen on importing Afghan dried and fresh fruits, particularly pomegranates and pine nuts. He emphasized that to facilitate this trade, China imposes no customs tariffs on Afghan export products, and Afghan exports to China have been on the rise as a result.
