The health officials of Herat Province have said that for the first time, the head surgery, the type of brain tumor or (adjacent gland) of a patient in the country has been successfully performed by doctors in Herat province's seminary hospital.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Herat governor's office has announced in a newsletter that the first brain tumor operation was successfully performed in the government hospital of this province.
According to the news, Dr. Barkatullah Mohammadi, a specialist in brain tumor surgery, said that this operation took about 5 hours and the condition of the person who underwent surgery is normal.
45-year-old Gholam Mehboob, who successfully regained his health after this operation, added: He did not have the money for treatment abroad and now he has regained his health inside the country with a small cost.
Meanwhile, the doctors of Hozavi hospital and the team of the neurology department said that the facilities in the tumor surgery department in Herat are available and they are ready to operate on other patients as well.
