AVA - Trump criticizes US withdrawal from Afghanistan

Former US President and Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump, has criticized the so-called US withdrawal from Afghanistan, saying Bagram should not have been abandoned.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): US President Donald Trump has called the US withdrawal from Afghanistan "terrible" and "a big mistake."

He said US troops should have left Afghanistan at the last stage, not at the beginning of the plan.

Trump has repeatedly mentioned the issue of withdrawing from Afghanistan during his campaign, using it as a tactic against the Democratic campaign led by Kamala Harris.

In his latest interview, the former US president referred to the Bagram base, which he said was located close to where China produces nuclear weapons.

He stressed that the US should not have left the base.
