France: We are not able to pay the 3 billion euro financial aid to Ukraine

The Minister of the French Armed Forces told the legislators that Paris cannot keep the commitment to pay 3 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine this year and will only give 2 billion euros to this country.

French President Emmanuel Macron earlier this year pledged 3 billion euros in aid to Ukraine, part of an increase in aid from Paris to Ukraine after criticism from other donor countries such as Germany, which said French aid is less than others.
In February, Paris and Kyiv signed a bilateral security agreement, which officially required Paris to provide 3 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine this year, but France is under pressure due to its internal budget deficit, and therefore cannot do so. to pay
Meanwhile, France is not the only country facing a budget deficit. Germany, which is the biggest donor of military aid to Ukraine, is also facing such a problem.
There are also concerns about the reduction of American support to Ukraine if Republican Donald Trump wins the US presidential election.
According to the Minister of the French Armed Forces, aid worth 300 million Euros to Ukraine is one of Russia's frozen assets and it is supposed to be spent on the purchase of 155 mm artillery ammunition, Caesar howitzers and fuel.
Also, 400 to 600 million euros will be spent on the reconstruction of SCALP and "Aster" missiles.
