Islamic Emirate calls for establishment of joint mechanism with Iran for dignified return of migrants
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates of the Islamic Emirate said in a statement that Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan met with Khalil-ur-Rehman Haqqani, the acting head of the ministry.
The meeting discussed the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran and their problems in the fields of work, accommodation and education.
The acting minister of refugees and returnees has thanked Iran for hosting Afghan refugees for 40 years.
He added that the Islamic Emirate has also decided to return the refugees to the country, but a joint mechanism should be established to ensure that the process is carried out in a dignified manner.
The process of forced deportation of undocumented Afghan migrants in Iran and Pakistan is underway.
