Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that the 6th Moscow Format Summit on Afghanistan will be held on October 4.
According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, will be a special guest of this meeting.
However, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, traveled to Russia yesterday to participate in the sixth round of the Moscow format consultative meeting.
Hafiz Zia Ahmed, the spokesman of the ministry, announced Muttaqi's trip on X channel and said that he, who is also leading a delegation from the Islamic Emirate in this trip, will participate in the next meeting of the Moscow format at the official invitation of Russia.
Mr. Ahmad added that Muttaqi is going to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the Moscow format meeting on October 4th.
He said that issues of interest to Russia and Afghanistan will be discussed in this meeting.
The Moscow format was created in December 2016.
In this format, Russia, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iran, and India are represented, and in the meetings, the representatives of these countries discuss and exchange opinions on issues related to Afghanistan.
In last year's summit, those five other countries, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also entered this format.
The fifth summit of the Moscow format was held last year in the city of Kazan, Russia, and the representatives of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey participated as guests.
According to the report of the Russian TASS news agency, on the sidelines of the upcoming Moscow format summit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will have a one-on-one conversation with Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.
