The officials of the Ministry of Information and Culture in the program of accountability of the government to the people informed about the visit of 9 thousand foreign tourists and 9 million domestic tourists in the past one year to the historical and recreational areas of the country and said that this ministry also distributed journalist cards to 620 journalists during this period. 

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: In the continuation of the government's accountability programs to the people; Today, Tuesday, Sep 17, Qadratullah Jamal, Minister of Finance, Administration and Tourism of the Ministry of Information and Culture, informed about the signing of memorandums of cooperation with 100 educational institutions and educational centers during the past year and said that through this means free higher education for 1000 and 581 tons; and it has been provided with a special discount for another 17,787 tons in the center and provinces.

He announced the creation of 18 capacity centers in agreement with international youth agencies and added that 14,000 youth have benefited from this initiative.

This official of the Ministry of Information and Culture mentioned the organization of 310 educational seminars and cultural meetings for young people as one of the other actions of the Ministry in the last year.

At the same time, Maulavi Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture announced the visit of 9,000 foreign nationals to the recreational and historical areas of Afghanistan in the last one year and said that during the same period, 9 million domestic tourists were also registered by the Ministry. 

Pointing out that the ministry is committed to the growth of the tourism industry in the country, he added: "Recently, semi-higher education courses in tourism and hotel management have been activated, and now a large number of young people are busy learning in these courses."

The Minister of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture also said that in order to provide the necessary facilities and promote the culture of tourism as much as possible, the construction of standard hotels is currently underway in some provinces.

He informed the ministry about the registration of 3,000 companies in the tourism sector and said that thousands of people are directly and indirectly employed in them.

Mr. Farahi also informed about the distribution of 620 reporter cards for journalists and added: the procedure of the final YouTube channels and the procedure of the journalists' fund have also been arranged.

He stated that the media is allowed to operate based on three principles: taking religious values, national supreme interests and national cultural values ​​into consideration.

At the same time, Maulavi Atiqullah Aziz, Minister of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture announced the scientific survey of 400 ancient sites in 14 provinces of the country in the last one year and added that 371 ancient sites have been confirmed and identified.

He informed about the collection of about 10,000 songs and rhymes during the last year and said that 12 theater plays and 2,411 ancient works of different eras were also recorded.

Minister of Culture and Arts of this Ministry also announced the prevention of smuggling of 416 items of historical artefacts at Kabul Airport and the country's customs.

Officials of the Ministry of Information and Culture announced the formation of a committee to draft the media law and said that YouTube channels will also be allowed to operate after obtaining guarantees.

They stated that in order to solve the financial problems of the media, a support fund for journalists has been established in these ministries and added that anyone who wants to support the media should do so in coordination with the ministry and through this fund.

At the same time, the minister of culture and arts of this ministry informed the Ava reporter about the production of dozens of video documentaries, including film, sound, images and text, about the course of the wars of the Islamic Emirate forces against the American occupation for twenty years and said that in order to protect the works of values a special presidential committee will be formed and the aforementioned documents will be published for public awareness.
