Afghan Voice News Agency (AVNA) - International Service: General Qais al-Mohammadawi, deputy commander of Iraq's joint operations, met with Edward Ahlgren, senior adviser to the British Defense Ministry on the Middle East, on Tuesday.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The two sides discussed issues of common concern, including strengthening cooperation and coordination in line with mutual interests.

"The capabilities of the Iraqi security forces with the training and experience they have gained in the fight against the terrorist group ISIS are at a high level, especially since our forces are in charge of pursuing the remaining elements of ISIS and this terrorist group is no longer at a high level," he said. It's not as big a threat as it used to be.

"The presence of some defeated terrorist elements who are being pursued by our security forces is a simple challenge," the senior Iraqi military official said.

He further stressed the need to conduct joint exercises in different teams to exchange experiences.

"We are willing to develop bilateral relations in the field of education and exchange of experiences," Ahlgren said, praising the depth of bilateral relations.
