Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: "Cooperation in border security is one of the areas that we cooperate with the Afghan government," Hassan Kazemi Qomi said in an interview with Iran's Radio and Television about the latest physical closure of the country's border with Afghanistan. 

 

"One of the issues that the interim government is accompanying is the issue of physical border blockade, which has now started on both the Afghan and Pakistani borders, and fortunately this issue has been among the decisions of the Supreme National Security Council and has been one of the issues that the leadership as The commander-in-chief took care of it.”

 

 

"The General Staff of the Armed Forces, with the help of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Islamic Republic of Iran's army, has begun the plan to physically block the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan, but, because the length of this wall is extensive, it will take some time," the Iranian president's special representative for Afghanistan added. "However, security plans on the border are now underway, including cooperation with the Afghan interim government."
