Extension of arrest of Telegram owner by France/reports of Israel's role in Durov's arrest

27 Aug 2024 - 8:26

The Guardian newspaper wrote in a report that the arrest warrant of Telegram's founder has been extended in France. Meanwhile, some claims indicate that Israel is behind this arrest.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International service: The Guardian newspaper announced in a news that the French judicial authorities have extended the detention of Pavel Durov yesterday.

He was arrested on Saturday night at an airport near Paris, and according to a well-informed source, last night the investigating judge who is investigating this case extended his arrest warrant. Initial detention for questioning may last up to 96 hours. After the detention period ends, the judge can decide to release him or to file charges and extend his detention.

At the same time, one of the X platform users named DaiWW (@BeijingDai) claimed that Durov's arrest was due to his non-compliance with the demands of the Zionist regime and the United States regarding access to users' information.

He wrote about this: Durov was arrested in France on charges of using the platform to support terrorist activities and child abuse and after refusing to provide user information to America and the Zionist regime, and now he may be sentenced to 20 years in prison.

On the other hand, American political commentator Jackson Hinkle also wrote in X: Anti-Israeli hackers who had stolen several gigabytes of sensitive information of this regime, published them on the Telegram messenger. Telegram also refused Israel's request to censor this information. Now Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, has been arrested in France and may be sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Hinkel also wrote in another tweet: A few days before the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France, he was directly negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin to return to his country after years of self-imposed exile. Arresting Pavel is an attack on Russia.

According to Mehr, Joralsim Post had previously announced the existence of Telegram channels that published content supporting Palestine. Speculation that Durov's arrest was due to his refusal to censor pro-Palestinian content has sparked outrage among supporters of free speech and online freedom.
