AVA - Attack on a Greek oil tanker in the Red Sea

The Greek-flagged oil tanker Sounion, which was sailing in the Red Sea, lost its ability to move after being attacked by two boats and hit by several missiles, the Greek shipping ministry said.

The British Maritime Trade Operations Organization said on Monday that a maritime accident had occurred 77 nautical miles west of Yemen's Hodeidah province.

The British Maritime Trade Organization (EMBRI) said the ship carrying the Greek flag that was targeted in the Red Sea today lost control after being targeted.

Meanwhile, Greek officials said the container ship on the Sonion was hit by two boats and three missiles.

The tanker was reportedly hit near the Yemeni port of Hodeidah and its crew is assessing the damage.
