Following the blocking of the Torkham crossing for Afghan citizens by Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country has announced that Afghan citizens can enter the country only with a visa. This is while Pakistan has closed the Torkham crossing to Afghan patients who were under the care of the country's medical centers in the last two days.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, spokesperson of Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in her weekly press conference that Pakistan guarantees a single document regime for entering the country.
The Pakistan Observer published today Friday (4th of Asad) according to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan that Afghan citizens can enter Pakistan only with a visa.

Meanwhile, the issue of having a visa for nationals of the country to travel to Pakistan has become a problem in the border areas of the two countries. The people of the Chaman border region in Pakistan have been protesting and sitting for months with this decision of the government of this country so that those who travel on both sides of the border can still travel without passports and visas and by presenting identity documents such as Tazkire.

In the past days, news was published that Chaman crossing was opened for traffic, but a day later, it was blocked again. Also, reports have been published about Torkham crossing being blocked for Afghan travelers who even have visas. The official authorities of the two countries have not yet taken a position on the recent situation of Chaman/Spin Boldek and Torkham.

Traveling with a visa to Pakistan has created problems, especially for truck drivers between the two countries, and they were supposed to be issued temporary permits instead of visas, but now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, contrary to some agreements of the economic and commercial institutions of this country, , has again emphasized the single document regime for entering this country.

Regarding the Torkham issue, sources confirmed to AMU that the government of Pakistan has stopped movement through Torkham to e-pass holders, which is for patients, and Torkham Gate is open to normal travelers and commercial activities. Electronic Travel Permits are issued to patients who are under health care at health facilities in Pakistan.

In another news about Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country has said in a statement that the Foreign Minister of Pakistan emphasized on finding a sustainable solution for the Afghan refugees living in Pakistan in a phone call with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to this announcement, Ishaq has discussed with Filippo Grandi about the attack on diplomatic missions of this country in some European countries.

Recently, Pakistan has extended the residency documents of immigrants with POR cards in this country for one year.
