The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran added: In the road sector, we had 14.75 million tons of transit last year, which shows a 58% growth compared to 1401. According to the law of the 7th plan, in the first year of this program, the transit of 16 million tons is targeted, but with this trend, the amount of transit will exceed 22 million tons by the end of this year. Also, in the 4 months of this year, we have seen a 56% growth in this sector.
He also mentioned the major transportation projects in the government of martyred Ayatollah Raisi and said: final agreements for the completion of the Eastern Corridor projects from Chabahar to Sarkhs, Rasht-Astara, exploitation of the Rasht-Caspian project, completion of the Shalamcheh to Basra project and Also, Aras project is one of these measures. Also, several parts of the railway line have been put into operation.
Bazarpash pointed out: In the grand project of Iran's Eastern Corridor, including the Chabahar-Zahedan-Khas-Sarkhas rail route, the project is being carried out in 20 sections, and a contract was signed with the Indians in order to connect to the important and strategic port of Chabahar.
Stating that good financial resources have been provided for the Eastern Corridor project of Iran, he expressed hope that the railway line from Chabahar to Sarkhes will be put into operation by the end of this year, although according to him, this railway line from Chabahar to Zahedan and Khash has been prepared. And the work on Khash-Serkhs railway line is going on.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran emphasized that the importance of this railway line is its connection to the important and strategic port of Chabahar and announced the work on increasing the capacities of this port. According to him, the work on the second phase of Chabahar Shahid Beheshti port is being followed by Iranian domestic companies in the form of a consortium.
Referring to the signing of the agreement with India on the development of Chabahar port, he emphasized that the Iranian government is trying to attract the investment of countries that own cargo from Iran's transit route, such as India, Russia, and China, in the country's ports and transportation infrastructure.

This cabinet member of martyred Ayatollah Raisi announced the 49% growth of Iran's maritime transit capacity and said that unloading and loading in the country's ports has also increased to 28 million tons. Also, 24 million passengers were transported through sea transportation, which was associated with a 140% growth in this sector.
Bazarpash went on to say that there was a 35.5% growth in the construction of highways and freeways, and stated: In the 13th government, 327 kilometers of new freeways were built in this country, and the length of the freeways reached 3,53 kilometers. Also, with the construction of 3,586 kilometers of highways, the length of Iran's highways increased to 48,000 kilometers.
He also continued to say: We operationalized the second phase of Imam Airport to reach the capacity of more than 50 million passengers. Several airports as well as terminals were put into operation.
Meanwhile, in the government of Shahid Raisi, following the many problems and obstacles that Pakistan has created in the way of Afghanistan's trade and transit, the relations between the two countries and the two governments in the field of trade and transit, especially the use of the capacities of Chabahar port and the completion of the line Chabahar-Zahedan railway, correction of customs barriers, etc., many good agreements have been reached and it is expected that the use of Chabahar port and eastern Iran corridor by Afghan businessmen will increase significantly.
A revolution in trade and transit between the two countries is expected after the completion of the Eastern Iran Corridor project and the connection of the Chabahar port to the Khawaf-Herat railway line, as well as other ports in Iran and Afghanistan, such as Abu Nasr Farahi.
