While there are reports of the continuation of business exchanges between Turkey and the Zionist regime, the President of Turkey said in a speech in the evening (Tuesday, July 16): Our Palestinian brothers and sisters continue to heroically defend their land with great honor and are an example of courage.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday evening that Ankara's position towards the Zionist regime is same as past "as long as the policy of massacre, occupation and genocide in Gaza and other Palestinian territories continues." 

Speaking after the cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdoğan explained: "Although the oppressors who feed on blood, tears and occupation are upset with our position, we firmly stand by Palestine and we will stand."

According to "Anatolia" news agency, he explained that during the NATO meeting last week in Washington, he raised the issue of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

While emphasizing the necessity of stopping the attacks of the Zionist regime for the region and the peace and security of humanity, the Turkish president stated that Ankara has used all possible means to pressure the Tel Aviv cabinet to accept the ceasefire.

According to this report, Erdoğan said that measures such as the suspension of business transactions between Turkey and the Zionist regime, and participation in the genocide case against the Zionist regime at the International Court of Justice are part of these efforts.

Pointing out that Turkey has also used its tools within NATO for this purpose, he continued: "Until sustainable peace is established in Palestine, we will not support cooperation plans with Israel within NATO."

Anatoly further quoted the President of Turkey and wrote: "Despite all the cruelty, brutality and crimes that Israel has inflicted on the Palestinian people in the past 285 days since October 7th, it still has not been able to break their resistance."

Erdogan stated: "Our Palestinian brothers and sisters continue to heroically defend their land with great honor and are an example of courage for all Muslims and humanity."

Based on this, he added: "I salute my Palestinian brothers and sisters, who taught the world a lesson in patriotism despite nearly 40,000 martyrs and bombs falling on them."

The president also reiterated that Ankara is ready to play any role, including guaranteeing, for peace and tranquility in the region.

While Turkey has extensive economic exchanges with the Zionist regime in addition to political relations, these relations are still maintained due to the crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip.
