Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Qaisar Afridi, the spokesperson of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Pakistan, said about Mr. Grande's visit yesterday evening (July 6th): The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is coming to Pakistan for three days, he Meets with government officials. He will also meet with representatives of Afghan refugees and discuss the problems of Afghan refugees in Pakistan with government officials.

Pakistani officials have told the media that Filippo Grande will first go to Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where most Afghan immigrants live, then he will go to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

The exact number of Afghan refugees in Pakistan is not known, but according to the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the total number of Afghan refugees in Pakistan is more than three million, of which less than one million have special immigration cards and 1.3 million are unregistered.

It should be mentioned that the migrants and asylum seekers who are deported from Pakistan to Afghanistan are exposed to threats such as hunger, lack of shelter and economic problems.

Meanwhile, Asif Durrani, Pakistan's special representative for Afghanistan affairs, said at the beginning of last week at the third Doha meeting on Afghanistan, that since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in August 2021 until now, about 700,000 Afghans have migrated to Pakistan. Most of them have gone to Pakistan with the intention of going to other countries.
