Afghan News Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Shahabuddin Delawar, Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, has said that the mafia's hand to the country's oil has been cut short and efforts are being made to get hold of them (the mafia) in the Afargsha program (checking the documents of the volunteers) for the extraction of three salt mine blocks in Faryab province.

In this program, Mr. Delaware criticized the salt merchants and asked them to be honest.

According to the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, this ministry takes national interests seriously in the country's mining contracts.

Shahabuddin Delavar added: "I don't consider anyone in national interests. These mines are the national interests of Afghanistan and men, women, children, Shias, Sunnis, Hindus and everyone share in them."

The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum has also said that a large part of the country's budget comes from various mines in the country, and this ministry has brought more than 17 billion Afghani into the coffers of the Islamic Emirate last year.

Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum added: "Every year when we have a lot of income, we fund a large percentage. Although the revenues increase and decrease, a large share is from these [mines], and next to it, the revenues are from our customs, which are very transparent."

According to Bakhtar, he has also stated that the military and civil servants of the Islamic Emirate have increased significantly compared to the republican period and all their needs are met from mining and other domestic revenues.

A number of officials have said in this meeting that Afghanistan has the best salt in the world and efforts are underway for the country's self-sufficiency in salt production.

According to them, the country needs 300,000 tons of salt annually, of which 100,000 tons are currently produced inside the country.
