The United Nations Security Council approved the resolution proposed by the United States for the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of prisoners last night (Monday, June 10). Hamas called the complete cessation of hostilities a condition for any agreement on the exchange of prisoners. The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations also demanded that the perpetrators of crimes in Gaza be held accountable.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The resolution proposed by the United States was approved with 14 positive votes and one abstention (Russia) without any dissenting votes.

Meanwhile, Riyad Mansour, the ambassador and permanent representative of the Palestinian Authority in the United Nations, said about the approval of the draft ceasefire resolution in Gaza: The Palestinian nation seeks to achieve justice and hold the perpetrators of crimes in Gaza accountable.

According to Iran Press, the representative of Palestine in the United Nations said: "We are looking forward to the implementation of the Security Council's cease-fire resolution in the Gaza Strip, and the responsibility for the implementation of the Security Council's resolution lies with Israel."

In a statement, the Palestinian Authority welcomed the approval of the draft resolution proposed by the United States to the Security Council regarding the cease-fire and exchange of prisoners and added: It welcomes any plan that leads to the immediate cessation of the war in Gaza and the preservation of the unity and integrity of the Palestinian lands.

The Hamas movement announced that the resolution approved by the Security Council, which includes a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from this strip, the exchange of prisoners, the reconstruction of Gaza and the return of Palestinians to their places of residence, and opposition to any population change or reduction in the area of the Gaza Strip And the entry of humanitarian aid into this line is welcome.

The Hamas movement also expressed its readiness to cooperate with mediating parties to enter into indirect negotiations regarding the implementation of these principles and clauses that are in line with the demands of the Palestinian people and resistance.

In this statement, it is also stated: Hamas also emphasizes on continuing to strive and fight together with all the Palestinian people in order to achieve their national rights and above all to drive out the occupiers, to form an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return and self-determination.

A complete cessation of hostilities is a condition for any agreement to exchange prisoners.
Meanwhile; Taher al-Nunu, the media adviser of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, emphasized that a complete cessation of hostilities is a condition for any agreement on the exchange of prisoners.

Advisor Haniyeh added: We are determined to reach an agreement that will end the war, but this agreement must include a permanent ceasefire.

He added: "Washington is a partner in the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation and is not a mediator and should stop taking sides on the Zionist side."

The media adviser of the head of Hamas's political office added: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not willing to stop the war, and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken should put pressure on the occupying regime instead of asking for pressure on Hamas.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement also welcomed the Security Council's resolution on the ceasefire in Gaza and added: "Standing and resisting forced the enemy to surrender."

On the other hand, Vasiliy Nebenzia, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, emphasized that we are not sure about the position of the Zionist regime regarding the ceasefire resolution in Gaza and said: We believe that the Security Council should not sign agreements with ambiguous components.

Nebenzia went on to state that Russia always has a positive attitude towards any diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war in Gaza, and clarified that the Security Council approved the resolution proposed by the United States, but Washington has not yet disclosed its details to this council.

America is the biggest financial, weapon and political supporter of the Zionist regime in the Gaza war. Although Washington shows itself eager to reach an agreement to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, the truth is that these efforts are nothing more than showing Tel Aviv's point of view through political imposition on the Palestinians.
