It is stated in this statement: "10 years ago and in the shadow of the foggy conditions of that time, ISIS terrorists with the support of the forces of evil and global hatred committed a crime and attack against our people in Mosul and terrorized its inhabitants and in this way from They took advantage of their base goals and superstitions and stood up against every achievement that the Iraqi people had achieved by overthrowing the dictator.

Al-Sudani further pointed to the heavy killing of ISIS terrorists from all parts of Iraq and said that Iraqis of all groups and colors stood up to clean their land and gave their blood in this way.

The Prime Minister of Iraq also discussed the fatwa of Ayatollah Sistani's Jihad Kafa'i and said: "The blessed fatwa of His Highness Sayyid Ali Sistani (Dam Zaleh) played a brilliant role in changing the course of events towards the realization of victory and guaranteeing the sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of the Iraqi people."

Ayatollah Sistani issued his famous fatwa and 3 days after the fall of Mosul to the Takfiri elements of ISIS regarding the obligation of Jihad against ISIS; In this fatwa, which was announced during the Friday prayer in Karbala and by his representative, Abdul Mahdi Karbalai, all those who are capable of carrying weapons were asked to fight ISIS alongside the military forces of the Iraqi government.

The attack of ISIS terrorists on the city of Mosul on the morning of June 10, 2014 opened a new chapter in the developments of the region; The raid that was extended to Salah al-Din province and near the shrine of Imam Askariin (peace be upon him) in Samarra, and after that, Takfiri elements were gradually pushed back with the help of massive popular mobilization and the formation of Al-Hashd al-Shaabi.

According to Iraqi sources, from the time of the fall of Mosul to the announcement of the complete liberation of Iraqi territory from ISIS, between 2014 and 2017, more than 250,000 people were killed, tens of thousands of people were kidnapped and disappeared, and all the infrastructure of the cities occupied by ISIS were destroyed.
