Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who traveled to Damascus, the capital of Syria, following a trip to Lebanon and talks with the officials of this country, as well as the Secretary General of Hezbollah, met with the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country regarding bilateral relations and developments in the Gaza war. and discussed and emphasized: Iran-Syria relations will remain deep and strategic.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Syrian Presidency announced the meeting between the President of this country, Bashar Assad, and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Ali Bagheri Keni, and announced that the parties "regarded the bilateral relations between Syria" and Iran and the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as regional and international cases, discussed together.
According to ISNA, during the meeting with Bagheri, Assad emphasized: Resistance against occupation in all its forms will remain a basic principle and a strategic choice.
He also emphasized: The closer the Zionist regime comes to defeating the steadfastness of the resistance, the more blood it sheds against the Palestinian nation.
Bagheri also emphasized in this meeting that the relations between Iran and Syria will remain deep and strategic; Because it is based on solid principles and common and honest interests.
He pointed to Iran's constant efforts to develop bilateral relations with Syria and invest in it to serve two countries on the one hand and the countries and people of the region on the other hand.

Meanwhile, Ali Bagheri, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, participated in a joint press conference after meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad before meeting with Bashar al-Assad.
Bagheri said at the beginning of his press conference: "I came to Syria today to thank the government and people of Syria for expressing sympathy with the government and people of Iran following the martyrdom of the president and foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
He added: "My trip has the message that Iran stands by the resistance against the Zionist occupation as before and more firmly than before." Iran and Syria are 2 companions, 2 colleagues and 2 close friends in the development of bilateral cooperation and 2 main pillars of stability in the region.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran said: I came to Syria today to consult with our Syrian brothers about the latest developments in Gaza and Rafah and to find a common solution to stop the Zionist aggression and take collective action in this regard.
He said: Iran and Syria believe that the cause of instability in the region is the occupation of the Zionist regime. Iran stands by Syria to fight terrorism and instability, Iran stands by Syria for the development and progress of this country.
In this joint press conference with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, "Faisal Al-Maqdad", the Syrian Foreign Minister, while honoring the memory of the martyrs of Raisi and Amir Abdollahian, emphasized the importance of the continuation of Tehran-Damascus strategic relations.
He said: The loss of martyr Amir Abdollahian is a great loss for us and our brothers in Iran. On behalf of the Syrians, we offer our condolences to Iran. We respect the great legacy that martyrs Raisi and Amir Abdullahian left behind.
While stressing the importance of continuing Iran-Syria relations, Al-Maqdad said: These relations are strategic and we emphasized the depth of the relations that connect Iran and Syria as well as other Arab countries and we declared our readiness to continue this path.
He also said: The claims that are published about Iran-Syria relations are just illusions or wishes of some people. The relations between Iran and Syria are in the best conditions.
Regarding the efforts of Iran and Syria to prevent the spread of war in the region, he said: We are working with our friends in the world to stop this crime (in Gaza) and to make the aspirations and dreams of the Palestinian nation come true. We support the Palestinian resistance in various ways.
