The spokesperson of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to journalists' questions regarding some published news related to the changes in the staff of the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Mashhad, stated; Any change in the consular staff is subject to the provisions defined in the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations; Based on this, the new person to manage the Afghan consulate in Mashhad must be introduced to the Iranian government in the defined ways and after obtaining approval and receiving a visa, enter this country and work in the specified mission.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate decided to terminate the service of Abdul Jaber Ansar, the Consul General of Afghanistan in Mashhad and called him to Kabul, and according to the sources, Nasir Ahmad Haqqani, the deputy of the embassy in Tehran as The new consul general of the country has been introduced in Mashhad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran says that Afghanistan should act according to the provisions defined in the 1963 Vienna Convention.
According to Nasser Kanani, in the meeting dated May 29, the head of the Afghan Embassy in Tehran with the Director General of South Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran and the request made to change the staff of the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Mashhad, it was explained to him that "the appointment and change of staff in Each consular post is one of the powers of the sending government, but they must be introduced to the receiving government in the defined ways and after obtaining the approval of the receiving government and receiving a visa, enter the receiving country for the defined mission and in the specified mission to get busy".
He Kanani clarified, this matter has been conveyed to other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in different ways. Therefore, the officials of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs are expected to act in accordance with the 1963 Vienna Convention and in accordance with internationally recognized methods for any changes and transformations in their consular staff.

Previously, sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, the Afghan Embassy in Tehran, and the country's consulate in the holy city of Mashhad have announced the end of the mission and service period of Abdul Jaber Ansar, the Consul General of Afghanistan in the holy city of Mashhad. According to a letter issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul and a copy of which was provided to Ava News Agency, Mr. Ansar has been called to Kabul to continue working in a new position. According to sources to AVA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has introduced Nasir Ahmad Haqqani instead of Ansar as the Consul General of Afghanistan in Mashhad, and has also informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran about this position, but now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran says that legal procedures should be taken.
