According to the state news agency Sputnik, Tupolev-22M3 strategic bombers, MiG-31 fighters and Iskander ballistic missiles participated in Russia's "non-strategic" nuclear exercise.

According to military affairs expert Alexei Leonkov, MiG-31 fighters are equipped with Kinzhal missiles. Kinzhal is a supersonic air-to-ground missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

Leonkov informed Sputnik that the color of the warhead of the Kinzha missiles is red, and this could be a sign of a special warhead.

This media said that the said exercise was held in the south of Russia, but did not give more details about this military exercise.
