Today (Friday), the United Nations General Assembly will vote on the draft resolution for the full membership of Palestine.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The UN General Assembly will vote on the draft resolution for Palestine's full membership in the UN this Friday; A resolution that grants new "rights and privileges" to Palestine and calls for a review and favorable opinion of the Security Council regarding Palestine's full membership in the United Nations.
 
According to European diplomats, due to the widespread support of 193 members of the UN General Assembly for Palestine's full membership in the UN, this resolution is expected to be approved by the majority of votes.
 
The American government vetoed this resolution in the Security Council on April 18, continuing its comprehensive support to the Zionist regime. While 12 countries voted in favor of this resolution and Switzerland and England abstained.
 
Voting the resolution of the full membership of Palestine is a renewed attempt to put pressure on the Security Council to reconsider the recognition of Palestine.
 
According to a Palestinian diplomatic source at the United Nations, the vote on the draft will take place at 10:00 a.m. New York time on Friday.
 
The representative of the Palestinian Authority said at the 30th meeting of the Security Council: The Palestinian people have always been victims of international events and decisions in which they had no role. Since 1988, the (autonomous organizations) leadership has shown its willingness to end the conflict and has made historic concessions. 
 
The representative of Palestine stated: Full membership in the United Nations is a right that we must achieve by international decision and not through negotiations. Anyone who stands in the way of a decision for Palestine to become a full member of the United Nations will not help increase the chances of peace in our region. Our preoccupation with the case of full membership in the United Nations does not make us forget the all-out war that is taking place in Gaza. 
 
The representative of the self-governing organization also said: The international community should not allow any party to assume that it is illegal and immune from punishment. The responsibility for the encroachment on the Gaza Strip rests with the countries that arm Israel.
 
A country's full membership in the United Nations is granted only if the Security Council and then two-thirds of the General Assembly approve it.
