This is despite the fact that three weeks after holding the parliamentary elections, the representatives of the new parliament of Pakistan elected "Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif" as the 24th prime minister of this country with the majority of votes to form the new government of Pakistan.
 
It should be mentioned that Shahbaz Sharif, the candidate of Nawaz's Muslim League party, which was supported by seven other parties, competed with Umar Ayub, the candidate supported by Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Tehreek-e-Insaf party.
 
According to the Election Committee, out of 266 seats in the National Parliament of Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Pakistan won 90 seats in the recent parliamentary elections. The "Pakistan Muslim League" party won 75 seats and took the second place in this election, and the "People of Pakistan" party won 54 seats and thus took the third place in this election.
 
The National Parliament of Pakistan has 366 seats, of which 266 representatives are elected through direct voting. Of the remaining 70 seats, 60 seats are reserved for women and 10 seats are reserved for non-Muslim minorities.
 
A party must have at least 169 seats in the National Assembly to obtain a majority in the parliament and form a government.
