29 Feb 2024 - 12:01

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a meeting with Afghan businessmen living in Turkmenistan, said that the customs tariff should be lowered on some items because the export from Turkmenistan is more, but the export from Afghanistan is less.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced this news and said: Amir Khan Muttaqi said in this meeting: "Tariffs should be lowered on some materials because exports from Turkmenistan are high and exports from Afghanistan are low." . This balance should be equalized to some extent."

Mr. Muttaqi added in this meeting that the Islamic Emirate has a balanced policy in the field of economy and implementation of development projects.

He has stated: "The current government in the economic sector, in the development sector of its policy, wants balanced development in Afghanistan; Balanced in the sense that no province or district has superiority over another province or district.

However, the amount of trade between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan is 481 million dollars annually, of which goods worth 3 million dollars are exported from Afghanistan and 477 million goods are imported.

In this meeting, he once again considered the caretaker government to be all-inclusive and said that the Islamic Emirate cannot appoint senior officials as ordered by other countries.

In this context, he added: "They (the previous government) accepted the orders of foreigners, such that one minister followed the orders of France, another followed the orders of the United States, and another followed the orders of Israel; In this sense, it is not truly inclusive. But if we look at the truth, we have officials from all regions, Alhamdulillah."

It should be mentioned that Amirkhan Muttaqi, at the head of a delegation, went to that country on Sunday (February 24) at the invitation of Rashid Murdov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, in order to discuss bilateral issues.
