Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif was elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan's Punjab

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan, was elected as the first female prime minister in the state of Punjab with 220 votes.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Mrs. Sharif posted this news on her Facebook page and wrote that she is proud to be elected as the first female president in this state.
 
This is the first time that a woman has become the chief minister of a Pakistani state. Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf party boycotted the voting process by supporting the withdrawal of candidates from the parliament.
 
Last week and a few days after Pakistan's elections, six political groups in the country announced in a press conference that they had reached an agreement to form a new government.
 
Leaders of the Muslim League (Nawaz Branch), Pakistan Peoples Party, Muslim League (Quaid Branch), Muttahida Qaumi Party, Pakistan Strong Party and Balochistan Awami Party participated in this press conference.
 
In the general election of Pakistan, which was held on Thursday, February 8, Mr. Sharif's party won 75 seats, while the Pakistan People's Party won 54 seats.
 
In this election, nearly 100 people who were supported by Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf party, entered the parliament independently.
