Russia announced its conditions for ending the war in Ukraine

24 Feb 2024 - 14:26

Vasily Nebenzia, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations last night at the Security Council meeting, announced that Ukraine can maintain its existence as an independent country, if it no longer shows open aggression against Russia, remains peaceful and neutral.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): This Russian diplomat added: "Saving Ukraine is now largely in the hands of the West." Kiev's allies can help resolve the conflict if they don't push Ukraine to abandon aggression against Russia. On the other hand, if the West continues to direct Kiev to continue the war and increase the shipment of weapons, Russia will also continue to take steps to achieve the goals set for special operations.

In this meeting, Nebenzia announced that he did not intend to listen to the speeches of the representatives of Western countries and left the Security Council hall. He also emphasized that Western countries continue to supply arms to Ukraine, and the continuation of bitter events in the Gaza Strip and their support for Kiev is a hypocritical act and emphasizes their double standards.

Earlier in the day, Russia's Permanent Representative Vassily, together with his first deputy, Dmitry Polyansky, left the UN General Assembly session, which was devoted to the issue of "Occupied Territories of Ukrainian Territory". Nebenzia emphasized that there are no "occupied regions" of Ukraine and the fact is that Russian people living in some regions have chosen to be part of the Russian Federation.

The representative of Russia also noted that the West distorts the events that happened in Ukraine, and tries to present Russia as an aggressor and selectively closes its eyes to the facts.

Quoting from Tasnim, UN General Assembly meetings with such a topic have been held annually since 2014 and after the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula to Russia. The representatives of the Western countries have spoken in these meetings condemning Russia's actions and accusing Moscow of violating the rights of the Crimean Tatars. The Russian side has denied all these accusations.
