The European Union says it supports efforts to reduce poppy cultivation in Afghanistan.

According to the United Nations report, in 2023, 10,800 hectares of land in Afghanistan were cultivated with poppy, while in the previous year, 233,000 hectares of land were dedicated to poppy cultivation.
