Kazemi Qomi: Europe should not make humanitarian aid to Afghanistan hostage to its regional relations

Hasan Kazemi Qomi, the ambassador and special representative of the Islamic Republic in Kabul, in a meeting with Thomas Nicholson, the European Union's special representative for Afghanistan, said that if Europe wants to help the people of Afghanistan, it should not make humanitarian aid a hostage to its regional relations.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mr. Qomi wrote on X social network on Saturday, February 17, that he met and talked with Thomas Nicholson, the European Union's special representative for Afghanistan affairs.
 
Iran's special representative for Afghanistan has written that in this meeting, they paid attention to European aid and not making it conditional on regional relations.
 
According to him, "If Europe wants to help the people of Afghanistan, it should not hold humanitarian aid hostage to its regional relations."
 
The meeting between Iran's special representative for Afghanistan affairs and the representative of the European Union is taking place while the important meeting in Doha is just one day away. Representatives of about 20 countries will participate in this meeting hosted by the UN Secretary General.
 
The Islamic Emirate had raised two conditions for participating in this meeting, and it is not yet known whether these conditions have been accepted or not, and whether a delegation from the Islamic Emirate will participate in this meeting or not.
