Imran Khan's wife was put under house arrest to spend her imprisonment

According to the decision of the Pakistani authorities, the wife of Imran Khan, who was sentenced to 14 years in prison along with the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has returned home and is supposed to be under house arrest.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): On Wednesday, the Islamabad court sentenced the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, "Imran Khan" and his wife, "Bashri Bibi" to 14 years in prison in the embezzlement case.

According to the AFP report, after that the Pakistani authorities announced that Imran Khan's wife can return home and be put under house arrest.

This announcement states: The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad capital region announces that from January 31, 2024 until further notice, Bashara Bibi will return home to serve her prison term.

According to the verdict of the Islamabad court, Imran Khan and his wife were sentenced to 14 years in prison in the luggage embezzlement case. Also, Imran and his wife were banned from holding government positions for 10 years and fined 787 million rupees.

The Toshekhane case was opened by the Election Commission of this country after Imran Khan stepped down from power in April 2022. The Election Commission of Pakistan has accused Imran Khan of concealing the valuable gifts he received from officials of various countries during his tenure as Prime Minister.

Imran Khan is also accused in several other cases, including corruption and embezzlement in Qadir Trust. Pakistan's anti-corruption agency accused Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi of embezzling millions of dollars in the case of Qadir Taras, a welfare and non-governmental organization, during the prime ministership of Imran Khan. This organization was launched in 2018 by Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
