Maulavi Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, during the completion and exploitation of three agricultural projects in Logar province, called Afghanistan's self-sufficiency dependent on agriculture and called the cultivation of hemp and cotton a good alternative for farmers to reduce water consumption.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Misbahuddin Mustain, the head of information and public awareness of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the Islamic Emirate today (Wednesday, January 17) in an interview with AVA reporter about the completion and operation of three agricultural projects worth more than 4 1,400,000 Afghanis reported in Logar.
According to him, three agricultural projects worth more than 4,400,000 Afghanis were held with the presence of Maulvi Osmani, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of this Ministry, Maulvi Inayatullah Shuja, Deputy Governor of Logar, Maulvi Seyyed Amin Hashemi, Head of Agriculture and a number of heads of departments. Locals, scholars, elders of the place were put to use.
He added that Maulavi, the chancellor of Osmani, considered the completion of the mentioned projects effective in increasing the farmers' yields and raising their economy, and said that Logar Province is an agricultural province and attention to it is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture added that the implementation of these three projects has beneficial effects on the better quality of life of farmers in Logar Province.
Maulavi Osman called the country's self-sufficiency dependent on agriculture and called the cultivation of hemp and cotton a good alternative for farmers to reduce water consumption.
On the other hand, Maulavi Seyed Amin Hashemi, the head of agriculture, irrigation and livestock of Logar province, says that these projects include 5 greenhouses equipped with drip irrigation system, 10 acres of commercial grape garden and 4 onion storage sheds.
Head of Agriculture Logar added that these projects have been completed with a cost of more than four million and four hundred thousand Afghanis in the center and districts of Baraki Barak, Charkh and Azera of this province from the development budget of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
He stated that the main goal of completing these projects is to mechanize agriculture, create a work environment for farmers and provide people with access to fresh vegetables.
The head of agriculture added that the works of the mentioned projects have been completed in nearly three months.
Meanwhile, Maulavi Inayatullah Shoja, the deputy official of Logar province, asked the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture to pay attention to increasing the share of modified seeds and chemical fertilizers for the farmers of Logar.
On the other hand, the beneficiaries of these projects expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Islamic Emirate, especially the Ministry of Agriculture, in the direction of the development and mechanization of agriculture, and demanded more attention from the authorities.
It should be mentioned that 60% of the cost of construction of cold houses was paid by the Ministry of Agriculture and the remaining 40% by the beneficiaries.
