Simultaneously with the visit of the Foreign Minister of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran has announced the final agreement between the two countries for the development of Chabahar Port.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran announced on its information base the meeting between the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazarpash, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Subramaniam Jaishenkar, and added that in this meeting, regarding past actions a final agreement has been reached to equip Chabahar port and develop this port.

It has been said that in this meeting, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran proposed the formation of a joint transport committee to expand cooperation between the two sides and stated that the formation of this working committee will activate the transit capacities and use of the North-South corridor.

It has also been said that according to the development plans of the Iranian government regarding the port of Chabahar, the development of the second phase of the Shahid Beheshti port and the provision of strategic equipment to improve the unloading and loading capacity are among the plans of the government of this country.

The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran added that the construction of the infrastructure of the first phase of Chabahar Shahid Beheshti Port has been completed and its port equipment is being completed.

It has also been said that during the recent visit of Iran's road minister to Sistan and Baluchistan province of this country, an order was issued to start the executive operations of 5 large private sector investment projects with a credit of 40 thousand billion Rials in Chabahar port.

It should be said that Iran's Chabahar port is of great commercial importance for Afghanistan. Because Pakistan's obstruction in the use of Karachi port by Afghan traders has caused huge losses to Afghan traders in the last year.
