According to the news published in the media, China's first electric plane made its first flight successfully this week.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): It is said that the AG60E aircraft, which was manufactured by China General Aviation Industry Corporation, took off from Jiande Qiandaohu Airport in Zhejiang Province in eastern China.
The manufacturer said: This aircraft landed at the same airport after a short test flight.
The current aircraft is an electrically modified version of the AG60, an all-metal, two-seater, single-engine, lightweight aircraft. The AG60 is designed for civilian purposes such as flight training, agricultural surveying and aerial reconnaissance.
According to Isna, according to the Xinhua report, the length of the AG60E aircraft is 6.9 meters, the wingspan is 8.6 meters, and the maximum cruise speed is 185 kilometers per hour.
According to the manufacturer, the development of an electric version of the fixed-wing aircraft will contribute to an emerging strategic industry.
Instead of jet fuel, electric planes are usually equipped with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and electric motors, which are known for their zero carbon emissions. Alternative energy sources are solar energy or the approach of partially electric and partly combustion hybrid engines.
Electric airplanes have been built in other countries as well. Rolls-Royce launched the world's fastest all-electric plane in 2021.
This global high-tech autopilot startup (AutoFlight), which started in China and has manufacturing and testing facilities in Shanghai, has been working on electric vertical take-off and landing.
Airbus Europe has also been implementing electric flight projects since then.
