The meeting of the US special representative for Afghanistan affairs with the officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan, has announced that he has discussed issues such as humanitarian and economic challenges in Afghanistan, immigrants and the rights of women and girls in a meeting with the officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The US special representative for Afghanistan announced on Wednesday night, the December 13, by publishing a message on X social network that he met with Tariq Ali Bakhit, the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, during his trip to the region.
According to Mr. West, he had a detailed discussion with the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and his colleagues regarding dealing with the human and economic challenges of Afghanistan, Afghan immigrants, the rights of women and girls, and other issues related to Afghanistan.
Expressing his gratitude for the support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, the US special representative for Afghanistan announced the continuation of this organization's assistance in food security, access to clean water and urgent humanitarian needs.
Earlier, Mr. West had announced the end of his meetings with Pakistani and Qatari officials, United Nations officials and a number of Afghan citizens in Qatar on Monday, the December 11.
On Wednesday, the December 13, the US special representative for Afghanistan announced the beginning of his ten-day trip to several countries, including Pakistan, and emphasized that these trips will continue until Friday, the 24th of August.
On the other hand, he stated that the purpose of his trip and meeting with the authorities of four countries was to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, including political, security, economic, humanitarian and migrant issues.
