Increasing Pakistan's exports to Afghanistan

The Central Bank of Pakistan has reported an increase of 2.65% in exports and a decrease of 81.30% in the country's imports to Afghanistan in the last four months.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In the report of this bank, it is stated that from July to October, Pakistan's export to Afghanistan was about 186.7 million dollars, while in the same period of the previous fiscal year, this figure was less than 176.2 million dollars. It was a million dollars.

But the statistics of this bank show that Pakistan's imports from Afghanistan have decreased by 81.30% from July to October of the current financial year.

Afghanistan mostly exports dry and fresh fruits and coal to Pakistan, but the export of coal has also decreased to a great extent.

According to the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, most of the food including rice and flour is imported from Pakistan.

This chamber also said that cement, plastic, pieces and spices are among the other items imported by Afghanistan from Pakistan.

Khanjan Alkozi, a member of the board of directors of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, has confirmed that the level of Pakistan's trade with Afghanistan has decreased a lot and added: "We used to trade three billion dollars with Pakistan, which has now decreased to one billion dollars. On the other hand, "Afghanistan's exports to Pakistan have also decreased a lot."

Alkozi said that Afghanistan has already found alternative ways for its trade, including trade with Iran, which reaches up to two and a half billion dollars a year.

He added that in addition, Afghanistan's trade with China and India has also increased and Afghanistan's trade with Central Asia has reached 800 million dollars.

According to the latest World Bank report published on December 4, despite the 19% decrease in Afghanistan's exports to Pakistan, this country is still Afghanistan's largest export market.

The statistics of this report show that Afghanistan exports 54% of its commercial goods to Pakistan, of which 73% of exports include food and coal.

But this bank has confirmed that Afghanistan's total exports to Pakistan have decreased by 19% this year.

Also, the World Bank has said that Afghanistan imports 18% of the materials and goods it needs from Pakistan and supplies the rest of its needs from Iran, China and the United Arab Emirates.
