The Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the recent developments in the field of Afghan immigrants in this country, warned: "The enemy is looking for anti-Afghanism and conflict between Iranians and Afghans, which is not acceptable to us." At the same time, the political deputy of Yazd province has denied the claim of setting fire to the houses of the immigrants in Meibod city.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Ahmed Vahidi, who spoke in a question and answer session with students in Ahvaz city during his trip to Ahvaz province of Iran, has once again emphasized that illegal Afghan immigrants living in Iran should be returned to thier country.
According to Tasnim, he added that Afghan immigrants live in Iran temporarily and "when the bed is ready, they should return to their country".
Vahidi emphasized: "Citizens who do not have permits must be returned, and those who have permits must be organized."
He added that he discussed the return of refugees with the caretaker government of Afghanistan and the Islamic Emirate asked Iran for time and opportunity.
Recently, in a conflict, an Iranian youth was killed by a foreign citizen, whose identity has not been announced, in Meibod city of Yazd province, but it is said that he is a citizen of Afghanistan. The killing of this young man caused protests by Iranian citizens in this city and Yazd.
Following this protest, which according to the reports was controlled with the help of the police forces of the Islamic Republic, it was claimed that a group invaded the residence of the immigrants in Mehmanshahr Meibod and set fire to the homes of the immigrants; A claim that the local authorities in Yazd province denied.
Ali Akbar Azizi, Deputy Political, Security and Social Affairs of Yazd Province, said: "The pictures published in cyberspace are related to the fire in a waste in Meybod and have nothing to do with the homes of Afghans (Afghan citizens) in Mehmanshahr."
This is despite the fact that the number of Afghan immigrants in Iran has increased significantly over the past two years. In addition, since the beginning of this year, there has been a wave of Afghanistan-phobia and migrant-phobia on the part of some currents, especially the media opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the alignment of some media in this country, and to some extent, an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence between the host society and has confused the guest.
Nevertheless, with the formation of the National Migration Organization, Iran's Ministry of Interior has emphasized on the organization and smart management of legal immigrants in this country, as well as the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants.
