The majority of Afghan refugees expelled from Pakistan are women and children

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced in its latest report that the majority of Afghan refugees deported from Pakistan are women and children.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: On Sunday, November 19, this organization said in its second report on the situation of emigrants deported from Pakistan that about 24% of these emigrants are children under the age of five.
 
According to the World Health Organization, 60% of Afghan refugees deported from Pakistan are children and adolescents aged 17 and younger.
 
According to this report, 48% of the total number of people who entered Afghanistan from Pakistan are women.
 
The World Health Organization has added that since November 11, a total of 327,400 Afghan refugees have entered the country through the Torkham and Spinboldak crossings.
 
Most of the immigrants who have entered Afghanistan from Pakistan are residents of Nangarhar Province.
 
According to this report, after Nangarhar, most of these immigrants are residents of Kandahar, Kunar, Kunduz and Laghman provinces.
 
The World Health Organization has added in its report that this organization and its partners have provided health services to 51,494 returnees until November 14.
 
The World Health Organization has said that the migrants who entered Afghanistan from Pakistan are kept in temporary shelters before returning to their main areas in the border areas of Torkham and Spinboldek due to the registration of their profiles.
 
This organization added that as the winter season approaches, these people will be more vulnerable.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistani media have reported that the government of this country has started the process of arresting and deporting "illegal" immigrants in Peshawar as well.
 
On the other hand, the Islamic Relief Organization has announced that it provides essential services to the Afghan families expelled from Pakistan in Torkham region of Nangarhar province.
 
On Sunday, 28 Aqrab, the Islamic Relief Organization published a report and wrote that these aids are provided by humanitarian organizations.
 
This organization has stated that it has also conducted a survey in Torkham to assess and identify the needs of Afghan returnees from Pakistan.
 
According to the report, 63% of men and 37% of women participated in this survey.
