Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in San Francisco, USA to participate in the meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and meet with American officials.

 

According to a Reuters report, Xi Jinping is scheduled to meet with Biden at an undisclosed location in the San Francisco Bay Area on Wednesday, November 15, and then attend the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

 

Upon arrival, Xi waved on the steps of his plane and went down to meet US officials, including Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns.

 

He then boarded his Hongqi Chinese limousine and drove from the airport to San Francisco, where protests both for and against his trip are expected.

 

Xi Jinping plans to restore normal relations with Beijing, and his top diplomat has emphasized the need for freedoms.

 

This is the first visit of the Chinese president to America after 2017, and it will be the second face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since Biden took office in 2021.
