Russian President Vladimir Putin says that the plane of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner military group, crashed due to the explosion of hand grenades inside the plane and that it was not a missile attack.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International service: Putin claimed that fragments of hand grenades were found in the bodies of the victims of Prigozhin's plane crash.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said: Fragments of hand grenades were found in the bodies of people who died in the crash of the plane of mercenary commander Yevgeny Prigozhin on August 23.
He said: The experts who are investigating this accident did not find any signs that the private jet had a "foreign collision". Prigogine and two top aides to private military contractor Wagner were among 10 people killed when the jet crashed while flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
An initial US intelligence assessment concluded that a deliberate explosion caused the plane to crash, and Western officials cited a long list of Putin's enemies who had been assassinated. The Kremlin called the accusations behind the crash "absolute lies".
