Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, In a meeting with IOM representatives, MoRR officials expressed concerns over the reduction of aid delivery to returnees and sought information about IOM’s future programs.

Qari Mohammad Ajmal Viar, an official from MoRR, engaged in discussions with Adnan Baghajati, the Humanitarian Access Officer with IOM Afghanistan and the head of the organization’s post-arrival assistance program in Afghanistan.

Mawlavi Sardar Shirzad, who is in charge of the assistance program for Internally Displaced Persons, highlighted that Pakistan plans to deport 1.1 million migrants, necessitating increased support from organizations. The MoRR has proposed the establishment of a technical committee to address the essential needs of returnees.

Abdullah Qayoumi, the border commander of Islam Qala in Herat province, reported that approximately 3,000 Afghans return from Iran via the Islam Qala border daily. However, IOM currently assists only 250 returnees per day, which is insufficient given the scale of returnees.

Adnan Baghajati acknowledged existing challenges and expressed IOM’s intention to expand its services, emphasizing the need for greater collaboration to achieve this goal.
