23 Sep 2023 - 23:37

Pakistan’s first priority is to prevent and counter all terrorism from and within Afghanistan. The caretaker prime minister of Pakistan said.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Speaking at the General debate of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly, Kakar asked Kabul to prevent TTP and Daesh attacks from Afghanistan.

“Pakistan’s first priority is to prevent and counter all terrorism from and within Afghanistan. Pakistan condemns the cross- border terrorist attacks against Pakistan by the TTP, Daesh and other groups operating from Afghanistan. We have sought Kabul’s support and cooperation to prevent these attacks. However, we are also taking necessary measures to end this externally encouraged terrorism,” Kakar said.

The caretaker prime minister of Pakistan called for continued humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan, particularly women and girls.

“Pakistan shares the concerns of international community with respect to Afghanistan particularly the rights of women and girls. Yet, we advocate continued humanitarian assistance to a destitute Afghan population in which Afghan girls and women are the most vulnerable; as well as revival of the Afghan economy and implementation of the connectivity projects with Central Asia,” he further stated.

Jalil Abbas Jilani, the foreign minister of Pakistan, said in a press conference that based on Pakistan's foreign policy, this country refrains from interfering in the internal affairs of independent countries, including Afghanistan.

“Afghanistan is a sovereign country. Pakistan follows a policy of non-interference … while respecting the sovereignty of other countries. At the same time, we have expectations that the Afghan side would take action against all groups who are violating Afghanistan’s soil to carry out terrorist activities against other countries,” Jilani said.

Meanwhile, Anwar Ibrahim the Prime Minister of Malaysia, in the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, asked the current Afghan government to remove the restrictions imposed on women in Afghanistan.

“On our part, Malysia is committed to continue its existing people-to-people relations with Afghanistan, including through the provision of humanitarian aid.

However, the Islamic Emirate once again assured the security of Afghanistan's soil.

“Daesh has always come from other countries to Afghanistan, and they may have been detained or killed here, and we have shared its reason with them. I should say regarding the Pakistani Taliban, that it is the internal issue of Pakistan,” said Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman of the Islamic Emirate.

Two days ago Asif Ali Khan Durrani was appointed Pakistan's special envoy for Afghanistan, and at the head of a high-level delegation, held talks with the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate in Kabul to resolve the challenges between Kabul and Islamabad.
