18 Sep 2023 - 9:53

Pakistani security forces arrested 200 more Afghan refugees in this country.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to reports, Pakistani police forces arrested 200 Afghan refugees in an operation yesterday (Sunday, September 17, 2023) in the fruit and vegetable market of Islamabad, the capital of this country.

Last week, the media of Pakistan announced that the security forces of this country have detained more than 300 people, including Afghans with legal residency documents, in four days.

In this context, "Anwar Haq Kakar", the prime minister of the interim government of Pakistan, said today, Saturday: "Afghans without visas or residency documents and people with fake identities will be returned to Afghanistan and these people cannot stay in Pakistan."

The Prime Minister of Pakistan pointed out that the previous mild approach in dealing with Afghans without residency documents has led to various social harms in Pakistan. The illegal entry of Afghans into Pakistan has led to the strengthening of terrorist groups.

At the same time, the Afghan refugees in Pakistan, in a letter from the government of Islamabad and the United Nations, requested the provision of asylum rights and residency documents.

This is despite the fact that a few days ago, 150 Afghan nationals were arrested in the city of Karachi by the Pakistani police.
