Hussain Amir Abdullahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in response to the new sanctions imposed by the United States, England and the European Union: "We will not leave these actions unanswered."
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iran's Foreign Minister made the statement in a press interview that was held in Tehran on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
According to IRNA news agency, Abdullahian said regarding the sanctions imposed by the European Union, the United States and the United Kingdom against responsible individuals and institutions in Iran, "Some of the people who were included in the list of these sanctions died a few years ago."
He said that getting the names of these people on the sanctioned list is "like a joke, because they themselves are tired of this pointless game."
Iran's foreign minister further emphasized that the sanctioners cannot, on the one hand, demand negotiations and, on the other hand, increase the pressure against Iran by repeating wrong policies.
The Treasury Department of the United States of America has announced that it has sanctioned 29 people and organizations, including Iran's security forces, for allegedly suppressing last year's riots in this country.
The ministry also decided to impose sanctions against Fars and Tasnim news agencies and Press TV, which broadcasts programs in English.
