Issuance of an official investigation order for the impeachment of Joe Biden by the Speaker of the US House of Representatives

13 Sep 2023 - 11:14

Following accusations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption by US President Joe Biden, Kevin McCarthy, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of this country, following the pressure of the Republican members, announced that he has asked the committees of this House to conduct their own investigation for the impeachment of Joe Biden. Biden should start.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Speaker of the US House of Representatives said on Tuesday, September 12, 2023: "Allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption have been raised, which require further investigation by the House of Representatives." That's why today I ordered the House of Representatives Committee to begin their formal impeachment inquiry into the President of the United States, Joe Biden. We will proceed based on the evidence.
According to Mr. McCarthy, the investigation focuses on Joe Biden's possible profit from his son Hunter's dealings. However, no evidence of this has been discovered so far.
According to Euronews, Republicans in the House of Representatives have yet to provide any evidence that Joe Biden directly benefited from his son's business in Ukraine or anywhere else. They have only made allegations that the Justice Department's investigation into Hunter Biden's financial affairs has been halted.
White House spokesman Ian Sams described Mr. McCarthy's action as "extreme politics at its worst" and wrote in a tweet: "House Republicans conducted a 9-month investigation into the President and found no evidence of any wrongdoing. Mr. McCarthy's own party members admit this."
Sams also noted that Kevin McCarthy had previously said he would not begin an impeachment inquiry without a full House vote. With some Republican lawmakers saying they oppose the plan, there is no certainty that Mr. McCarthy will be able to get all 218 votes needed to pass it.
Democrats in the House of Representatives called Mr. McCarthy's action "unfounded."
Hakim Jeffries, the minority leader of the House of Representatives, called this action "unfortunate, reckless and heinous" in a tweet and wrote: "This is a political revenge and lacks any factual or legal basis."
Kevin McCarthy said the investigation will be led by Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer, along with Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and House Appropriations Committee Chairman Jason Smith.
The US House of Representatives has until September 30 to pass the budget bill to avoid a government shutdown. Mr. McCarthy is trying to get their support for the approval of the budget bill by accepting the request of the Republican representatives about starting the impeachment investigation of the President.
