Officials in the Ministry of Industry and Trade have announced the expansion of Afghanistan's trade relations with the world and say that currently Afghanistan has trade relations with more than 70 countries. They also emphasize that more than 570 million dollars worth of goods have been exported in the last five months.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdul Salam Akhundzadeh Javad, the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stated on Thursday (September 7) in an interview with an AVA reporter that Afghanistan's trade relations with the countries of the region and the world have expanded.

Based on Mr. Javad's statements; Afghanistan currently has trade relations with more than 70 countries worldwide. He also adds that efforts are underway to expand it as much as possible.

In his speech, Javad noted that Afghan businessmen have exported goods worth more than 570 million dollars in the last 5 months.

He stated that most of these goods were exported to neighboring countries, Turkey, Iraq, United Arab Emirates and other countries.

Javad said that the export items of the country are coal, saffron, dried fruit and fresh fruit and agricultural products.

Javad makes these statements while last year, for the first time, Afghanistan managed to export goods worth more than 2 billion dollars.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that efforts are underway to break last year's record in the field of exports.

Meanwhile, Khanjan Alkozi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, told Ava reporter that the Islamic Emirate gives priority to exports and has created a special policy for exports in customs.

Alkozi added that both at the ports and at the borders, in the first step, the car of export goods goes through the steps, followed by other vehicles.

Nevertheless, the traders emphasize that the air corridors should be reactivated in order to provide more ease in their exports, especially the export of pine nuts.

Mehboobullah Mohammadi, one of the country's businessmen, pointed out that there are still many problems facing the country's exports, one of which is the lack of a regular export program to China, America, Europe, and Arab countries, and the second problem is the air corridor.

He added that if traders export their items through Pakistan, they will face transit problems.

At the same time, economic experts say that although the volume of the country's exports was small compared to imports in the past years, it has been continuously increasing.

They emphasize that this increases the hope for Afghanistan's economic growth in the coming years.

Ahmad Hossein, an economic expert, told Ava reporter that the increase in the country's exports in the last two years will improve the balance and reduce inflation in Afghanistan.

He added that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has succeeded in this field by adopting effective policies.

This is while the World Bank recently reported that Afghanistan's exports increased by four percent in the first 3 months of this year and that the country exported goods worth 600 million dollars from January to April.

In the report of the World Bank, it was stated that the inflation rate of Afghanistan has decreased significantly compared to previous years.
