Midwifery and nursing training for Afghan girls in Iran in cooperation with the United Nations
The spokesperson of the United Nations Secretary General said that in cooperation with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Nations Population Fund, midwifery and nursing training will be provided for Afghan women and girls in Iran.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: This issue was stated by Stephen Dujarric, the spokesman of the United Nations Secretary General, in a press conference.
In a press conference, the spokesperson of the United Nations Secretary-General, quoting Stephen Priesner, the UN Coordinator in Iran, said that this is an important step to strengthen inclusion and empowerment of those who were forced to leave their homes in Afghanistan.
Dujarric added that this initiative was taken under the leadership of the United Nations Population Fund in coordination with the World Health Organization, the United Nations Refugee Agency and the International Organization for Migration to address the needs of Afghan refugees in Iran.
Earlier, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran's special representative and ambassador in Kabul, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the United Nations Population Fund to train and improve the skill level of a number of Afghan nurses and midwives.
