Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, Ministry of Information and Culture, on Tuesday (August 23, 2023) emphasized at the "Government Reporting to the Nation" meeting that broadcasts and programs against the customs of the Afghan people will be stopped. .
Ministry of Information and Culture announced the amendment of the law of mass media in the country and said that this law will soon be approved by the leadership of the caretaker government.
Based on Farahi's statements; The Department of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture has modified the Law of Public Media and some parts of it have been entrusted to the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, which will soon be available to everyone.
Farahi called the suspension of the publication of programs contrary to Afghan customs, Islamic values and the interests of the country in the media, collecting books that cause intellectual deviation of the youth, creating a commission and the procedure for advertising boards in the city and the procedure for reviewing books as the achievements of this ministry during the past year.
He also said that the Press Office of the Ministry of Information and Culture plans to hold "a meeting of 500 people" with university professors, influential people, students and all sections of the society in all the provinces of Afghanistan, the first meeting of which will start next Thursday in Jalalabad province. .
Farahi stated that this meeting will continue in 34 provinces of Afghanistan.
In another part of his statement, he stated that the Department of Media Publications Supervision has evaluated the license of 222 news agencies, newspaper pages, and social channels in the past year.
The extension and issuance of 156 licenses for media applicants in the audio, video and print sectors, and the correction of 81 cases of violation of the media law policy of the Islamic Emirate and the handling of 5 copyright cases were announced as other achievements of this ministry in the last one year.
At the same time, Khairullah Khairkhah, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, said in this meeting that in the past year, the Minister of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture surveyed 100 historical places in 16 provinces and discovered about 6,232 new historical works in various provinces.
According to him, 372,000 more domestic tourists have visited various places in the country in one year than in the past, and 1,500 of them are foreign nationals.
Khairkhah also said that the ministry's youth affairs department has arranged a plan based on which most of the youth's problems will be solved in different departments.
He added that last year, the Ministry of Youth Affairs signed a memorandum of understanding with 35 universities, based on which poor school graduates are introduced with a special discount and continue their education.
At the same time, Maulavi Saaduddin Saeed, Minister of Administration, Finance and Tourism of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said that for the purpose of providing more facilities for tourists, the construction of four new hotels, worth about 64 million Afghanis, has been planned and the work will begin in the near future.
Saeed added that this ministry has registered and issued 1097 business licenses in the private and tourist sector in the past year.
He also stated that the Ministry of Information and Culture has collected 224 million 608 thousand 320 Afghanis from different sectors in the past year.
Saeed pointed out that last year, 1,500 tourist companies and guesthouses were inspected by the Afghan Tour government company, and the companies and guesthouses that did not have legal documents were closed.
Also, 523 new tourism companies have been established by this company, and the period of operation of 114 other companies has been extended. In addition, this ministry has issued operating licenses for 13 new guesthouses.
