The representatives of Uzbekistan and the United Nations discussed the developments in Afghanistan
Esmatullah Irgshov, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan affairs, met with Miroslav Jencha, the assistant secretary general of the United Nations, and discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan and the security of the region.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to Uzbek media reports, in this meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of multilateral cooperation issues between Uzbekistan and the United Nations, especially in the field of strengthening regional security, including the current situation in Afghanistan.
The Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations has appreciated Uzbekistan's efforts to create a unified regional position regarding Afghanistan and to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan.
The parties have paid special attention to strengthening the role of the United Nations in dealing with global and regional problems, including solving the problem of Afghanistan.
It should be mentioned that Uzbekistan has commercial and political relations with the Islamic Emirate, but so far it has not recognized the caretaker government of Afghanistan.
