IEA: Afghanistan is Committed to Cooperation with All Humanitarian Organizations

Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, met with the new UN Deputy Envoy for Afghanistan.


Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, In the meeting, Mohammad Khater, OCHA’s deputy head in Kabul, and some other UN representatives were also present.

 
Daniel Peter Endres shared information about his activities in Afghanistan and said that Afghanistan is in the midst of humanitarian aid and cooperation from the United Nations.
 
There is a need to have close coordination, cooperation, and relations with the Islamic Emirate in the areas of humanitarian assistance to Afghans, solving economic and climate problems, he added.
 
The new UN special deputy Envoy for Afghanistan said that Afghanistan is one of the countries in the region that has been severely damaged by climate change and drought, referring to the recent floods in the country.
 
While welcoming the new UN Deputy Envoy for Afghanistan, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs wished him success in his assigned tasks and said that in the past there was coordination between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the United Nations, which he hoped to be strengthened under the new appointment.
 
The Islamic Emirate as a responsible government, is committed to any cooperation with all humanitarian organizations including the United Nations agencies, said Hanafi.
 
We welcome the aid provided by the United Nations and other organizations in the fields of health, education, and similar fields because Afghanistan needs more aid to address its humanitarian problems, he added.
 
Later on, Mohammad Khater, the deputy of OCHA, spoke in Kabul and said that they have some plans in hand to help the drought-stricken people in different provinces of Afghanistan.
 
“Although we have done our evaluations in some sectors, the relevant departments of the Islamic Emirate have shared their suggestions with us regarding the drought-affected areas, which we will work on based on a joint plan in the future,” he said.
 
Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs said that the environmental protection department has been directed to be more active in the protection of the environment amid the high impacts of the global climate crisis.
 
At the end of his speech, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi said that the Islamic Emirate is interested in keeping good relations with all the countries and Islamic Emirate does not allow anyone including its neighbors to use Afghanistan’s soil, against other countries.
